I have a color dilemma. I have a great patterned dress that has lots of fun colors in it but no black. I would prefer to wear my black tights instead of brown (my legs tend to look like ground pork stuffed in casings if I don't wear black) and brown boots. Is it okay to wear black and brown together?

Yes you can wear black and brown together but if you are worried about showcasing your legs, this might not be the best bet for you. Wearing a patterned dress without black then brown then black again may cut you up into little bite-sized pieces. We may be hungry for fashion but we don't want that! Try the darkest brown legging you can find and then, yes, you can still wear your black boots. Just don't try brown shoes with black pants! Ewww.
Here's a little Polyvore to get you in the right direction. If it's good enough for Chanel, Burbery, Vuitton and little leopards running around Africa, it's good enough for us!

Adelita Style at the Nordstorm Trend Show
Me and the Chanel rep after the Trend show. Ain't we cute?Sean and I attended the Nordstrom Trend Show this past weekend. I staggered out of bed on Saturday at 7am and was out the door at 8. “This better be good!” I told Sean when I picked him up from his studio.
By 8:30 we were herding ourselves into an underground makeup lair, greeted by uber polite gay men handing us tote bags with treats, pastries and coffee, thank God!
The show began and the question was posed, “Does anyone here want flawless, beautiful skin?!” A dull roar came from the crowd, “I can’t hear you!” Then a resounding cheer. They caught on fast. I had never experienced hundreds of women drinking in the latest makeup trends. But, I had been to a male strip club once (ONCE) many years ago. I have to say, these trend show ladies had the same reaction to skincare as the bachlorettes at the strip club; Hoots and hollars for free stuff, screams and cheers for the Delectable and Delicious male models donning the latest tanning cream and awwws and ooohs for the newest mascara mania. After an hour or so, I started to feel peppy and positive too. The excitement was contagious.
When the show was over, all of us herded ourselves back up to civilization and the frenzy of makeup continued with rows of chairs lined all around the Nordstrom makeup floor. Ladies quickly took their appointments and whipped out their credit cards for the freshest and most exclusive skincare and makeup. I was simply searching for my favorite model. For some unknown reason I thought it would be a good idea to take a picture with a Barbie clone. When I finally found her and stood by her side I murmered, “Do I really want to take a picture with you?” She laughed uncomfortably, Sean took the shot and I zoomed over to the male models for a quick photo op.
I had a great time, no impulse buys but my favorite makeup rep from Chanel, of course, promised a package of goodies after the Oscars! Will it be those gorgeous temporary tattoos that Barbie and the Chanel models were wearing on the runway? I understand that Sandra Bullock wore a Chanel lipstick for her Oscar victory. Was it their gorgeous new lipstick Rouge Coco? Women should start wearing lipstick again. At least, that’s what they said at the trend show.

SJP and STC introduce Halston Heritage
Here it is! the Sex and the City Movie sequel poster finally made its debut in December. Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie Bradshaw) wears a V-neck white Halston Heritage dress (available Feb. @ $325), a $198,200 jeweled Solange Azgury-Partridge necklace, and a Chanel clutch. To complete the look - Christian Louboutin gold Pigalle heels and gold Mykita & Bernhard Welhelm shades currently available at patriciafield.com.
But the really big news is that white dress! Sarah Jessica has been rumored to be the new designer at Halston for its Halston Heritage collection. My guess is that the clothing campaign will coincide with the release of the movie because of the prominence of the dress on the poster.
This promises to be a far better collaboration than the now dead Bitten collection that SJP designed for bankrupt Steve & Barry's.
"If she is to come to Halston, I know that she will do an incredible job and finally get the brand back to being a Halston that is respectful of Mr. Halston and his legacy but also move it forward to what women today want to wear," says stylist and commentator Mary Alice Stephenson. After their dismal relaunch in 2008, Halston needs a bit of magic and I think Sarah Jessica is just the magician they have been looking for.

The Ultimate Me

Some think of themselves as their most sexy in the nude, I picture myself fully clothed head to toe; wrap me up in CHANEL, MIU MIU or as in this sketch LOUIS VUITTON!! I am definitely NOT one of "The Girls Next Door" type of bunnies; I am the mad fashion hare. Here I am walking down the Paris runway wearing an amazing MARC JACOBS' Fall09 LOUIS VUITTON creation. I'm dying to squeal, holding back my smile. You can barely make out the shoe of a celebrity on the left. Perhaps it's VICTORIA BECKHAM! Can't you just see RACHEL ZOE going "bananas" front row center? I can. And isn't the vision all the more clear picturing yummy Marc primping me behind the curtain? My stomach in butterflies from his touch, who cares if he's gay, what a MAN! Sigh, I can just imagine the ultimate me.
