Animal Attraction

Marc Jacobs' fabulous silk bunny ears, Erin Fetherston's magical, Peau d’âne inspired glitter masks, Maison Michel's sexy, lacey critters and Moschino's hot pink beany with Minny sprouts have all inspired me to show my animal attraction. Halloween night handing out candy at E's house and hitting Sean's studio party was a great debut for my mouse ears. I think they are too silly for everyday wear. I will switch to the bear ears for my next night out on the town!

The Ultimate Me

So for today anyway, this is the ultimate me. Some think of themselves as their most sexy in the nude, I picture myself fully clothed head to toe; wrap me up in CHANEL, MIU MIU or as in this sketch LOUIS VUITTON!! I am definitely NOT one of "The Girls Next Door" type of bunnies; I am the mad fashion hare. Here I am walking down the Paris runway wearing an amazing MARC JACOBS' Fall09 LOUIS VUITTON creation. I'm dying to squeal, holding back my smile. You can barely make out the shoe of a celebrity on the left. Perhaps it's VICTORIA BECKHAM! Can't you just see RACHEL ZOE going "bananas" front row center? I can. And isn't the vision all the more clear picturing yummy Marc primping me behind the curtain? My stomach in butterflies from his touch, who cares if he's gay, what a MAN! Sigh, I can just imagine the ultimate me.

Ask Adelita: White Idea

Dear Adelita Style:

For some reason I am very in tune to white at the moment. I understand that it symbolizes clarity. But am I shunned from wearing it after Labor Day?

I say bring that stale tradition to it’s knees! Wearing white in the summer has long been a practice but why turn summer’s light clarity into winter’s forbidden pleasure? White spins into glamour, opulence and sparkle in the fall and winter. Take a look at these bright fashions from major players’ Fall/Winter 2009 collections. Which do you think is more daring, breaking convention or listening to the likes of DEREK LAM, D-SQUARED, FREJA BEHA ERICHSEN, GIVENCHY, MARC JACOBS, MUI MUI, or TAG? EQ, after this Labor Day put your white ON not out!

Adelita Style 101: Game On!

styling 101

step 1 • don’t neglect the body, especially in an athletic shot
step 2 • results! look how great those legs make the shoes look!
step 3 • the perfect cast; Justin as photographer, Adam as assistant, and Lil Star as ball girl
step 4 • after the perfect shot, it’s time for a wardrobe change
step 5 • game ON!

When photographers and stylists have a little down time... they do more of the same! Justin had a great idea for a super plastic, in focus athletic shot and when I saw the model Aunjoli's headshot, it was game on! For these shots, I didn't want to over do makeup and hair. Simple was best, shine was crucial. I used baby oil gel for her body and MARC JACOBS shimmer blush for the tops of her cheeks and high points of her bone structure, some pretty Nouba eyeshadow, super shiny beige NOUBA Sweet Kiss gloss and just a dash of black mascara did the trick. I swept her hair up into a neat ponytail and added an ADIDAS headband in plum. For her clothing, I chose a plum sportsbra as a top (she definitely had the abs for it), NIKE sweatbands and a kid's extra large tennis skirt in navy and plum (it was slim pickens at the stores), the shoes were PUMA. The second outfit was simple, a NIKE lime green sport top, adorable drawstring side shorts in black and, believe it or not, some DR. SCHOLL'S tennis shoes with a smidge of lime to pick up the color of the court. It was love, love all the way!
