Black on Black
click on this image for a closer look.
Here I am playing with mixtures of feminine and masculine, much like Chanel does. Justin Gollmer and I shot this in his amazing new studio called Lucile. Here is a rundown on the goods:
- Jeffrey Campbell lace up booty sans tongue, wear fun tights with these!!
- Prada wedge, perfect with a wide leg pant.
- Report Signature pumps, you know what to do with these.
- Mara Fitch Jewelry aka Knitcake, layer these vintage babys on and even Karl Lagerfeld will swoon!
- Betsey Johnson open-toed pump, throw on a fabulous 40's dress and go Swing dancing.
- Juicy Couture jewelry boxes, I wear the bangles and showcase the boxes in my home. Bonus!
- Matisse Joplin rocker boot, skinny jeans and a black tank will take you to the next level, add a touch of fur (or faux fur) and you're "Almost Famous."
- My deliciously wicked and extra large Tano bag is not for the faint at heart. I carry my laptop in this one.
- All props are stylist (that's me!) own.
So next time you want to grit up your look a bit, think Biker Chic meets Lacey Siren and bring out your Dangerous!

Happy Birthday Shoot!
Yep! It's my birthday!! This sweet photo was shot by Justin Gollmer at STUDIO 3, INC. The client was selling the beautiful cake stand that you see in the center. I created the background digitally, shopped for the plates and cups, provided the ribbon and beautiful flowers, bought the cupcakes from CUPCAKE ROYALE, and I special ordered that gorgeous cake from Dan at DECADENCE CUSTOM CAKES. What a tasty photo to share for my special day.Tuesday, July 28, 2009

When photographers and stylists have a little down time... they do more of the same! Justin had a great idea for a super plastic, in focus athletic shot and when I saw the model Aunjoli's headshot, it was game on! For these shots, I didn't want to over do makeup and hair. Simple was best, shine was crucial. I used baby oil gel for her body and MARC JACOBS shimmer blush for the tops of her cheeks and high points of her bone structure, some pretty Nouba eyeshadow, super shiny beige NOUBA Sweet Kiss gloss and just a dash of black mascara did the trick. I swept her hair up into a neat ponytail and added an ADIDAS headband in plum. For her clothing, I chose a plum sportsbra as a top (she definitely had the abs for it), NIKE sweatbands and a kid's extra large tennis skirt in navy and plum (it was slim pickens at the stores), the shoes were PUMA. The second outfit was simple, a NIKE lime green sport top, adorable drawstring side shorts in black and, believe it or not, some DR. SCHOLL'S tennis shoes with a smidge of lime to pick up the color of the court. It was love, love all the way!
