Class of 2011

Graduation can be a rite of passage, a result of hard work and academic skill or a moment in time when a person moves from one career to another.
Dakota Fanning is a movie star to us but a friend and cheerleader to her high school friends.
Dakota Fanning graduated from high school this year and is heading to college touring NYU as well as several other east coast schools. This young starlet managed to pack in a movie career as well as cheerleading and homecoming queen duties.

Adorable Stephanie with her family surrounding her at graduation.
Stephanie is headed off to DC after a rigorous curriculum at Seattle Pacific University! She'll be turning heads in the nation's capital with a degree in Political Science concentrating on International Affairs, and a minor in French. She's looking for a career with our national security, defense or intelligence. Brains and beauty!

I first met Stacey Lowenberg when she was 17. This green little ballerina had just arrived from Iowa to study at the Pacific Northwest Ballet as an apprentice. Stacey began her dance legacy at 12, later in life than most girls. But with determination, grit and heart, she became a member of the PNB’s Corps de Ballet almost immediately. Stacey enjoyed the spotlight with well-deserved solos in a long ballet career. But the heart and body can only stay in one place for so long. Her last performance was met with cheers and flowers at her feet. Although we will miss her on the stage, her transition to private teaching in Ballet and Pilates could bring her into our living rooms! You can contact me if you would like more information on her classes.

So there you have it! 3 lovely ladies from the Class of 2011; Each one a superstar, an intellectual and a dancer showing us achievement can be obtained in many ways and that our personal pursuit in excellence is ever-changing. How will you change the world? With wit, strength or grace? Or, like me, with style!

I was asked to design this graduate from the University of Washington's Foster School of Business's cap. Go Huskies!!

I Love Lucy... Dress

Modcloth has this adorable dress available in medium to big girl sizes.
You girls will look great on the assembly line in this little number. I love the Baba Blue dress so much and 2,726 others do too as of this post! I know a certain someone who would look dazzling in this beauty. You can get yours here; No comic abilities or curly red wig required. But you might want to add this delightful Bergman Heel from Seychelles to complete your Lucy look.
This post is lovingly dedicated to Laura

Adelita Style Shopping List for Summer

My summer shopping list always consists of color. And for this photoshoot with David Bell at Studio 3, Inc. I loaded my car up with fresh grass, my Yorkie Jelly Bean and a few of my favorite things:

From the top yummy pink Necco Wafers, Tarina Tarantino bangle, TT Tokyo Hardware handbag, my classic iPod, pink drugstore sunglasses, Jelly Bean modeling a LouisDog sweater, Hat Attack spilling with Japanese comics, dollar store finds, my baby doll from when I was 5-years-old (I finally took the netting off for this shoot!), Noir crocheted pins and a handful of TT PinkHead jewelry, my Cochni glittery sandals and a delicious Raz-Dillo cream filled snack cake!!

Most of these items are long gone but you may be able to ebay some. If you want to fill your bag with fun, colorful items, go to my website, www.adelitastyle.com/shopping for links to of-the-moment must haves.
 Love, Kamie

Today's Adelita Style Self Portrait: Six Feet Tall!

Today I felt six-feet tall because, well, I was! Remember those Jeffrey Campbell shoes I wanted? I got 'em! I received this special delivery from Cherry and I couldn't wait to put them on. 5 hours of bliss on the sales floor! I wore my "grandmother's couch" with a zippered floral top and Vigoss jeans from Meadow, a darling little headband from Lily's, a layered necklace made of vintage medallions and Lil Star lent me a pair of zipper earrings. I no longer have to be jealous of my leggie bosses. (They tower over me at 5' 10" and 5' 11".) I can just slip these tapestry booties on and look them in the eye.
