For what has proven to be our hottest days of summer, (yesterday broke a record at 104) I paired some old and new items, some given to me and some purchased by me. Let's go toe to head this time. Cherry gave me these fabulous boots from MISS SIXTY! I recommend a great pair of vintage boots in it's place. The cordoroy mini skirt is from ABERCROMBIE, you can find another cute one similar to it on their site. Cherry gave me the top too- it's from H&M. I modified it a bit, it had some lace that was too stretched out so, I cut it out and I wear it with an old HOLLISTER lace tank underneath. The pearl necklace is borrowed from Lil Star who got it as a "freebie" with her PAWPARAZZI PETS from LILY'S. The straw cowboy hat is vintage but you can find a cute green one just like it at TARGET . And the bag is made from recycled plastic by TOTE LE MONDE.

Today I thought about how quickly things change. Going to the market meant arriving. You came home with a paper or plastic bag with logos all over it full of goodies. Now we bring our own bags to fill. This is where we should all take advantage of the opportunity presented to us. I know I did! Trick out your summer trip to the market. My bag is a great oversized straw bag from HAT ATTACK. It's the perfect compliment to a gal's summer wardrobe, like this adorable plaid babydoll from TARGET. Just be sure to pair it with fun accessories! I'm wearing my TARINA TARANTINO Hello Kitty Pinkhead bubblegum necklace and bracelet.

Delicious plus Bra, equals Bralicious

Dana sent me home with this adorable vintage bra! Here I am showing Lil Star in her fabulous room. Rows and rows of black ruffle sewed onto whispy netting. Even a lil girl understands the absolute must for feeling pretty underneath her pretty clothes. Bralicious!

Stylist Spotlight: Eva Poleschinski

My Facebook friend from Austria Eva Poleschinski creates beautiful clothing and styles them beautifully too! For this shoot, she used model is Valentins from Body & Soul. This set was filmed at artist Lutz Bielefeldt's place in Vienna. Wardrobe styling was by Eva and all the clothing was from her fabulous SS09 ep_anoui collection! Her design label's name "Epanoui" means to blossom; the word formation came from the initials of her name.

Michele Pauty, the Austrian photographer, works in press, fashion and art. She continuously tries to uncover the unique beauty in every person and situation, to learn more about this upcoming talent, check out her website at michelepauty.com.

Today's AdelitaStyle Self Portrait- Lil Star

Shhhh, don't tell anyone but Lil Star just made a pair of matching TYTE jeans for her and her BFF! She drew pictures and wrote about their memories together. (LS got the idea from "THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PANTS") The top she is wearing is COTTON CABOODLE with her own flower embellishments. I made her wig out of extra thick yarn, it's cute braided too! She used it when she was Wednesday from "The Adams Family" last year. The do rag is a hand-me-down and the shoes are SMARFIT from PAYLESS.

Adelita Style 101: Game On!

step 1 • don’t neglect the body, especially in an athletic shot
step 2 • results! look how great those legs make the shoes look!
step 3 • the perfect cast; Justin as photographer, Adam as assistant, and Lil Star as ball girl
step 4 • after the perfect shot, it’s time for a wardrobe change
step 5 • game ON!

When photographers and stylists have a little down time... they do more of the same! Justin had a great idea for a super plastic, in focus athletic shot and when I saw the model Aunjoli's headshot, it was game on! For these shots, I didn't want to over do makeup and hair. Simple was best, shine was crucial. I used baby oil gel for her body and MARC JACOBS shimmer blush for the tops of her cheeks and high points of her bone structure, some pretty Nouba eyeshadow, super shiny beige NOUBA Sweet Kiss gloss and just a dash of black mascara did the trick. I swept her hair up into a neat ponytail and added an ADIDAS headband in plum. For her clothing, I chose a plum sportsbra as a top (she definitely had the abs for it), NIKE sweatbands and a kid's extra large tennis skirt in navy and plum (it was slim pickens at the stores), the shoes were PUMA. The second outfit was simple, a NIKE lime green sport top, adorable drawstring side shorts in black and, believe it or not, some DR. SCHOLL'S tennis shoes with a smidge of lime to pick up the color of the court. It was love, love all the way!

Haley Potter and the Half Blood Princess

Guess what I saw today!? My version of Scary Potter is a little less spooky. I am wearing a crazy cut off men's shirt from African design label XULY BET. It's one of the first pieces I ordered after seeing it in a magazine. Was it Vogue? I can't remember, I only know it's from the early 90's and Helena Christensen was the model. (If you don't know who she is, think of the Chris Isaak video "Wicked Games" and if you don't know the video kids, you will just have to YouTube it!) The tie is a clip-on from FRENCH TOAST and the glasses are from TARGET's line of Halloween accessories. Both are borrowed from LIL STAR. Beneath the tie and cut off shirt is my favorite babydoll dress from ZETO. About the movie... Do you think I liked it? Well, why else would I wear this silly outfit? Of course I did!! Garage sales are the new/old recycling! Here I am at M and E's house for a little lunch. Everything here on their porch is a vintage find, including me! I am wearing a great little yellow eyelit dress with a simple pair of flip flops and berry colored polish. Take a trip into someone's yard sale this weekend and you may find yourself doing something green.

I was walking down the street on the way to a meeting with M. A man stopped me and said, "Hey I like your t-shirt! 'Be Happy' I like that!" Ugh. If only I could BE my t-shirt these days. It's from FOREVER21, that cute little skinny skarf is from THE GAP, my jeans are FRANKIE B in mechanic wash, my shoes are OH DEER purchased at THE QUEEN ANNE DISPATCH, the handbag is CO LAB from CHRIS KON and my glasses are a vintage purchase - I put my prescription sun glass lenses in them so I could look chic AND see at the same time. So, if you can't BE happy, wear it!!

Today's outfit is designed for cloudy weather. FOREVER 21 top in a fabulous irregular print, TARGET leggings, a darling little half cardigan with a puppy embroidered on it and around my neck sits my favorite TARINA TARANTINO butterfly necklace, this necklace was worn in turquoise and green in the movie 13 GOING ON 30!
